VOLUNTEER PROGRAM - CIMAD

The CIMAD is a Colombian non profit organization dedicated to the promotion, dissemination and exchange of knowledge through the development of scientific and technological research aimed at natural resource management with social participation.
The CIMAD offers youth volunteer opportunity to participate in our conservation programs, research and education of marine turtles in the Pacific Coast of Colombia throughout the year.
As a volunteer in CIMAD you can support our cause contributing your time and effort to understanding and preserving turtles and their environment.
As a volunteer you will gain invaluable experience and you will get to know yourself better, you will have the opportunity to make friends for life and will directly contribute to the conservation of our oceans.
CIMAD accepts volunteers all year round, for a minimum period of two weeks, to support our programs:
- Rescue and veterinary care of sea turtles in CERETOMA
- Monitoring of turtles on beaches (October to February)
- Open-water monitoring (all year)
- Environmental Education
- Fisheries Biology
The assignment of each volunteer to the programs depends on the needs at each moment.

DURATION: At least two weeks
LOCATION: Volunteering is done in the town of Guapi on the Pacific coast. Dep of Colombia ending on what activities the volunteers will visit the Gorgona National Park to support research activities CIMAD.
REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEER
- Age 18 years or older
- Enthusiasm and commitment to wild life conservation,
- Good mood to enjoy life with out the usual amenities of the city,
- Speak Spanish
COSTS: The volunteer must cover their transportation to the work area as well as accommodation and meals during their stay inthe area.
CERTIFICATE: CIMAD will award a certificate of participation in the Volunteer Program
