DIEGO F. AMOROCHO Founder and External Advisor
Diego is a biologist from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, received his MSc from the Australian National University and his PhD from Monash University (Australia).
Diego has 25 years of experience working on marine and the conservation of sea turtles, mainly in the Colombian Pacific coast.
Diego's work is marked by his pragmatism, integrating research on the biology of sea turtles using sophisticated techniques such as genetics and satellite telemetry and work with local communities.
The ultimate goal is the conservation of sea turtles and their habitats to improve the living conditions of communities.
In 2010 Diego was awarded the Whitley Award, also known as the "Green Oscar" and the Mollie Holman Medal of the Faculty of Scienceat Monash University.
Currently Diego is the Endangered Species Coordinator WWF Latin America and the Caribbean.
