CERETOMA
The Rehabilitation Centre for Marine Turtles in the Colombian Pacific, was born in 2009 in response to local need to rehabilitate sea turtles rescued by artisanal fishermen from Guapi and their surrounding.
OUR MISSION
The Center for Sea Turtle Rehabilitation aims to provide emergency medical care, rehabilitation, and advance treatment to rescued turtles. And educate the community about proper rescue techniques and reintroduction of individuals in to the sea.
The Centre is a cornerstone of the local formation of human talent, veterinary research and applied biological treatment of diseases and injuries that have endangered sea turtles in the Colombian Pacific.
In addition, CERETOMA visitors can learn about these majestic animals, the threats they are facing and the actions of CIMAD toward protecting them in the region.
